You need to synchronise your Trophies. Go to the trophy icon on the XMB-> press Triangle and select “Synchronise”. This syncs them with an online server. Do the same once the new drive is in and youre signed in to your PSN account. If this doesnt work then they will deffinately be added each time the corresponding game is played.

My PS3 broke on me a few months ago (60 gig) so I plan to send it to Sony soon. When I get it back I plan to put a bigger hard drive in, but since all my data is already gone I won’t have to back anything up when I swap out the 60 gig hard drive for a bigger one, right?

I mean, I shouldn’t have anything to back up since all my data is gone, unless there’s something else that needs backing up, right?

Any USB drive should work, expect to spend around $25 to $75 for a drive with a decent amount of storage space. Here is one example: Toshiba 320 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive.
