Since having purchased an Android phone I have been amazed at the amount of great apps and games that are available via the Marketplace. One such game I’d like to give a little attention to is SpecTrek a title that combines an augmented reality ghost hunting game, a GPS navigation game, a role playing game and(last but not least) a fitness game.

Spectrek works on all android devices from the G1 to Nexus 1 and is available for download in two varieties, Spectrek Lite and Specktrek Full. The difference being the Lite version runs a Google Ad on the stats page and isn’t visible during gameplay. You can support the developer and pay 1.99€ for Spectrek Full.

Different ghost types with different behavior are visible in scanner mode by holding phone up like a camera, and locations are presented real time on a map along with a horn scares away nearby ghosts. This is mostly used to drive away ghosts from inaccessible places, or to herd ghosts together for easier catching.

Spectrek also features extensive statistics (including distance traveled and calories burned), earn records and awards, hidden Items, twitter support SpecTrek is a quality game to enjoy outdoors with friends.
